Graham Vasey
PHOTOGRAPHER
My photography is inspired by the landscape. I attempt to create pictures which draw from the atmosphere of the enviroment around me. Rather than just taking a photograph of a location, I hope to give the viewer a sense of whats beneath the surface of the land. It is my aim to convey what it feels like to be there in the moment surrounded by the elements. For this reason I am often drawn to the wild moors, mountains and dramatic coastlines of Northern Britain.

Hi the last two months have been incredibly busy for me, and I am pleased to say I have had a great response to my new display in Gallerina. It's been hard work to keep the momentum going and keep on bringing fresh work into the gallery but its been worth it. I have posted a selection of the new prints into my Silver Gelatin portfolio.
The dates for the Victorian Photography Festival have been set it begins on 2nd of July and finishes on the 29th. I have upload a few of the salt prints which will be featured in the exhibition in my New Work portfolio. For more information on the festival please visit the Art Bank gallery www.artbank.co.uk or www.gallerina.co.uk.

Hello the last couple of weeks have been very busy for me with a display of my work being hung at the gallery ( www.gallerina.co.uk ) plus I got the proof copy of my new book Fell it looks good and will be on sale very soon. I spent yesterday at the coast in Saltburn taking part in the Victorian Photography Festival which is being organised by Charles Twist. I had a great day and got the chance to do some Wet plate photography with the help of John Brewer. All the pictures taken will be put together in a exhibition during the summer at the Art Bank in Saltburn

Hello, I have decided to start making this my news page and keep everyone posted about all my up and coming events and new projects.
The big news of the moment is I am currently filming a documentary with Gallerina. This film follows me on a trip into one of my favourite locations an area called the Howgill Fells. I hope it will give everyone an insight into how I create my photographs. For more info please have a look at:

I have a few favourite cameras which never leave my side when I am out shooting. I have a trusted old Hasselblad 500cm which has been a faithful companion for many years, as well as a host of folding and twin lens reflex cameras many of which date back to the 1920's. All of them have their own characteristics which I feel add something to the final image. I produce all my work using traditional hand printing techniques because of the control they give me, and the unique quality of the final piece they produce.
